Smallish (tho' not quite as small as that pic looks; about 7' x 10') single room available immediately in quite large and rather lovely first/second-floor two-bedroom flat. Full rent is £800, but as I'd prefer to keep the larger upstairs room, this will be split £350/£450. If you need more space for stuff, there's a small closet just outside the room and you're welcome to spill out into the large lounge. The bathroom (with bath and shower) is directly outside the room.

Bills to be split in two, excepting the superfast internet (including wi-fi) which I will pay for; I'm happy to either leave the main computer in the lounge for ready internet access (and music, CD burning, word processing etc.), or move it up to my room, according to your preferences. I have a TV but it's not tuned in and I do not watch it, so if you wish for TV I can drag that down but you'd have to pay for the TV licence. If you're not a student you will have to pay the council tax (at three-quarters of the full rate).

The bedroom contains only a bed and, if you wish, a large clothes rail. There is plenty of bookshelf room. The lounge contains chairs and a desk, but the two sofas (one of which folds out into a mattress if you occasionally want anyone to stay, and another which does in theory but is ridiculously uncomfortable as a bed) are very small, and so not well-suited for lounging on.

I'll be around and a student for at least the next academic year. I'm looking for a single female (or gay male) housemate, non-smoking (or at least happy to never smoke in the house - I can't handle smoke very well). Vegetarians are strongly preferred; if you're not, I'd need food and dishes to be kept separate. I'm music-obsessed and very politically charged (in a very lefty way); I'm not uber-social but need to dance regularly and like to go to plenty of gigs.

Oh, and there are gerbils. Lovely gerbils called Belle and Sebastian.
